6 Month Portraits

This face just screams I'm up to no good!!

We got a bunch of family pics taken too but decided not to get any prints of them. It is just really hard to look good when you are in a picture with such a cute baby!!

Yup that's right, Aiden is already 6 months old!! It seems crazy to think that he is already that old - the time has gone soooo fast. We went to the doctor yesterday for his 6 month check and he said that everything is looking good. He weighed 14lb 2oz (5%) and was 27 1/4 inches long (75%). Of course his head is still in the 80th % but what can you say... he's a Shelle :)

The doc's only concern was that Aiden still had some fluid in his ears. He had an ear infection about a month ago and the Dr. Josh had hoped that the fluid would be gone by now. Since the fluid is still there he decided to just wait another month and see if it goes away on it's own. If not we will have to go to an ENT doctor and maybe think about ear tubes. The fluid doesn't seem to be bothering Aiden and doesn't cause any damage to the ears but if it interferes with his hearing it could cause speech delays later on. However since Aiden talks ALL the time and pretty much talked for the entire doctors visit Dr. Josh isn't too worried about that right now.

As for his development he is doing great, meeting all the expected milestones. He rolls from his tummy to back pretty regularly now and is almost rolling from back to tummy. He is also getting pretty close to sitting on his own but still tips over sideways when you let him go. He has developed a great laugh - he usually saves it for dad but sometimes I am lucky enough to get it too.

An evening with Aiden

We started to give Aiden some fruits and veggies in addition to his rice cereal a few weeks ago.
Week 1 was sweet potatoes - "these taste pretty good"
Week 2 was apples - "these taste GREAT, can I have some more?"
Week 3 was peas....

8ish is bath and bed time for AidenJohn. He LOVES his bath and he looks so cute in nothing but his birthday suit I couldn't resist getting a few pics :)

Rollin

Last night Aiden finally figured out how to roll from his tummy to his back (he had done it once before several weeks ago but never again). By the time I got the video out he was on his 4th roll and getting a little pissed that I kept flipping him back over (hence the yelling in the first video). This morning I got the video camera out so I could get a video of him rolling without all the yelling but of course he wouldn't do it - Oh well it is a cute video anyways!!

Getting Older

Yikes I can't believe how long it has been since I updated the blog!! Since I've gone back to work and Aaron is back at work and school finding extra time to do anything (besides laundry) seems to be really hard :)

Aiden continues to be awesome!! He is growing like a weed and will be 5 months this week!!! He has also learned a few new tricks since the last post. Last week he started to reach for his toys when you put them in front of him. If he gets his hand around it then into his mouth it goes. He LOVES having his fingers (or any one's he can get a hold of) in his mouth and he NEVER stops drooling. The bib has become our best friend and we go through about 5 a day. He also rolled over for the first time yesterday. We were at our friend's house having a play date with all the kids and there he went from tummy to back. I tried to get him to do it again this morning but no luck :).

GO STATE !!!

Team Shelle attended both the Spartan women's basketball game and the Spartan Hockey game on Saturday so of course we had to get Aiden-John all dressed up. Unfortunately the women lost and hockey was a tie but it was still fun!!
