3 Weeks Old
I can't believe James is already 3 weeks old - it feels like he was just born but at the same time it feels like he has always been part of the family.

Aunt Jen and I decided to try to take some artistic pictures of James while he was still tiny. I got all the props and planned the poses - I mean really how hard could this be... well James had a different idea. There was peeing, pooping, and A LOT of crying but at least we got a few cute pictures.
Day 2
Nana and Papa watched our older boys while we were in the hospital (THANK YOU !!!). The morning after James was born Nana brought our boys up to visit again. It was nice because they were really able to visit with their brother without so many people. Isaac was much more receptive and interested in the baby this time.
Later that night Uncle Kevin, Aunt Gwyn, and cousin Elijah came to visit. I have a feeling that these guys are going to be trouble later !

After what seemed like a never ending pregnancy a healthy baby James joined our family 3 days before his due date. I had been having fairly regular contractions for several weeks and was dilated to 3 cm when I saw my Dr on Feb 21st. Since the baby was measuring over 8lbs on the ultrasound and my blood work was showing more antibody development we decided to schedule an induction for the next morning. Aaron & I arrived at the hospital at 8am and the induction started at about 9:30. At noon I decided to get an epidural since the contractions were getting pretty painful. I had relief from the pain for about 30 min and then I started to feel the contractions again. About 20 min and 2 pushes later James arrived before any doctors were able to make it into the room (thank goodness for nurses !). We were able to keep the baby in the room with us which was amazing!
